Mr. Teebs

My username in many forums where comments can be posted (amazon book reviews, townhall political commentaries, etc.) is "Nevadamistermom." I chose that username quite deliberately: It reflects where I live and my primary job. I'm a 24/7/365 single parent raising my adolescent son single-handedly. I've been doing it since he was 7 years old and I also work full-time as a marketing communications professional in a Fortune 50 company (yes, that's 50...not 500...it's a VERY big company). So essentially, I have two full-time jobs. One that pays the bills and one that pays the life-long dividends. I've had a few people who know nothing about me write rather scathing remarks about my username - things to the effect of "gender delusion" and "sissy" and implications that I'm some kind of touch-feely stay-at-home dad while the matriarch of the family is the breadwinner and commanding officer. Nothing could be further from the truth. My schooling was at Oregon State University where I graduated in 1988 with a bachelor's degree in electrical/computer engineering. I have worked in a variety of sales/marketing positions for the same company during the bulk of my career, focused on industrial instrumenation that assesses the mechanical health of large rotating machines like compressors, generators, and turbines. I have lived many places in my life: born in middle American (Sycamore, IL), moved to Ashland, OR where I lived from ages 10-23, college in Corvallis, OR, a brief stay in Santa Rosa, CA where I attended a few years of Bible College, then to Edmonton, Alberta CANADA for my first job out of college, then to Calgary, Alberta, and eventually to my current location near Lake Tahoe NV where my company's headquarters are located. Oh, and who is Mr. Teebs? Many years ago, one of my nephews had trouble pronouncing "Steve" so he called me "Mr. Teebs" instead.
